Naruhaya was one of the core members of Team Z during the First Selection, often acting as the team's jokester. After losing his parents in a tragic accident, he became the breadwinner for his five siblings, working multiple part-time jobs. He saw Blue Lock as his only chance to lift his family out of poverty. During the Second Selection, he teamed up with Shoei Baro but was ultimately defeated by Yoichi Isagi and Nagi Seishiro. Recognizing his own lack of genius talent, he gracefully accepted his elimination and passed his hopes onto Isagi.
