Ego Jinpachi recognized that Gagamaru's insane reaction time was completely wasted as a striker. Converted into a goalkeeper for the match against Japan U-20, Gagamaru instantly became the defensive savior of Blue Lock.

Gagamaru is entirely nonchalant, deeply eccentric, and completely in tune with nature. He lives by the motto 'All natural', eats entirely with his bare hands, and prefers raw meat over modern technology. He is also a massive manga nerd, having learned most of his human emotional intelligence by reading Shonen Jump.

Gagamaru is incredibly tall with exceptionally long limbs. He has long black hair tied into a bun (later dyed silver), and completely black eyes. He bears three large claw scars across his ear.
