Background and Story of Rensuke Kunigami

Kunigami originally played for Team Z alongside Isagi, holding a strong moral code and dreaming of becoming a 'football superhero'. However, during the Second Selection, he was utterly defeated and eliminated by Ryusei Shidou. Instead of leaving, he was forced into Ego's 'Wild Card' program—a torturous physical training regimen designed to forcefully recreate the physique of Noel Noa. Kunigami was the sole survivor, returning in the Neo Egoist League as a completely broken, aggressive cynic.

Personality of Rensuke Kunigami in Blue Lock

Original Kunigami was honorable, friendly, and deeply principled. 'Dark' Kunigami is cold, bitter, and entirely selfish. He rejects all concepts of teamwork, refusing to assist anyone (even Isagi), and plays with a singular, desperate obsession to score goals by any means necessary.

Appearance of Rensuke Kunigami

He has bright orange, spiky hair and an incredibly massive, heavily muscled physique. Post-Wild Card, his eyes are often drawn with dark, heavy bags, completely lacking their previous warmth.

• Lefty Cannon / Ambidexterity: Kunigami's original weapon was a ridiculously powerful left-footed shot. The Wild Card program forcefully trained him to become ambidextrous, allowing him to fire his 'Cannon' with either foot.
• Noel Noa Physique: His body has been artificially pushed to its absolute limit, giving him the core strength and balance necessary to copy Noel Noa's machine-like playstyle.
