Zantetsu was the original primary goalscorer for Team V before Nagi awakened. He formed a deadly trio with Nagi and Reo. Despite being constantly mocked for his lack of intelligence, Zantetsu is deeply determined to prove he isn't just an 'idiot'. In the Neo Egoist League, he joined Paris X Gen and learned how to utilize his explosive speed to support the unpredictable plays of Ryusei Shido.

Zantetsu desperately wants to be seen as an intellectual. He constantly uses large, complicated words (often incorrectly) and wears glasses specifically to look smarter. Despite his comedic idiocy, he is incredibly earnest and hardworking.

Appearance of Zantetsu Tsurugi

He wears rectangular glasses, has spiky black hair, and maintains a very serious, stoic facial expression (even when saying something completely stupid).

He is an Explosive Winger. Unlike Chigiri, who focuses on long-distance top speed, Zantetsu specializes in short-distance explosive acceleration, hitting his top speed instantly to leave defenders in the dust.

He is the physical foil to Hyoma Chigiri. He also provides significant comedic relief through his attempts to sound intelligent.

• Explosive Acceleration (Zero to Max): Zantetsu can reach his absolute top sprinting speed almost instantaneously, allowing him to easily win short-range races to loose balls.
• Left-Footed Curl Shot: Once he uses his speed to cut inside from the right wing, he fires a highly accurate, powerful curling shot with his left foot.
